The first shots of ‘Rana,’ the period film starring Rajinikanth and Bollywood babe Deepika Padokone took off yesterday without much ado. Many heads of the industry were present on the first day when the film went on floors. Some of the most prominent personalities from the Tamil film industry present during the function were director K. Balachander, “kaavinger” Vaali, director of ‘Rana’ K.S. Ravi Kumar, yesteryear singer TMS, actor-lawyer Cho Ramaswamy along with the cast and crew of the film.
‘Rana’ is a period film which has the 17th century as its backdrop and sees Rajinikanth pairing with Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone. The film is jointly produced by Eros International and Ocher Studios, a Soundriya Rajinikanth enterprise.
